Julie R. Keen, PT, NSCA-CPT has been involved in the fitness industry for nearly 15 years.

She spent the majority of her childhood involved in various sports, and nursing various injuries. During high school she discovered the weight room and fell in love. She also became interested in sports medicine while recovering from a severe ankle sprain.

Over the past 13 years Julie worked as a physical therapist in orthopedic, rehab and homecare settings helping people regain function and quality of life.

Prior to this, in college, she worked in the athletic training room at the University of Connecticut working with high-level athletes, and also in a health club helping ordinary people with fitness programs.

She eventually decided to turn her passion for fitness into a career as a personal trainer, bringing her expertise in rehabilitation to people who prefer to exercise at home. She is certified as a personal trainer through the prestigious National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Julie is a mother and wife first and foremost, so she understands the unique demands that these roles put on women.  In her spare time, Julie enjoys exercising, boating, hiking, biking, reading, and cooking.
